Stern launching
Method of deploying a bilge (a floating barrier used to collect oil, waste or other debris on the water) from the stern of a vessel. The advantage of stern launching is that the boom can be deployed smoothly as the vessel moves forward, providing a more controlled launch than launching from the side.
Side launching
Side launches are often used when the vessel is stationary or moving slowly, and allow for precise positioning of the line. Side launching often requires cranes, davits or rollers to control the launch and prevent the line from being damaged or tangled.
Best practices for handling FRAMO TransRec 150
The TransRec system is a system for collecting oil during oil spill response operations. TransRec (Transportable Recovery System) is designed to collect oil directly from the surface of the water and pump it into a storage system on board a vessel.
Transfer to tankers
This video describes the procedure for transferring collected oil from the TransRec system to a tanker. The transfer must be carried out in a controlled manner to ensure efficient handling of the oil and avoid spillage or damage to equipment.
Procedure for picking up drift anchors
This procedure describes the procedure for safe and efficient retrieval of drift anchors. Drift anchors are used to reduce the vessel’s drift in the water and stabilize it under demanding conditions. Correct handling of the retrieval process is essential to avoid damage to equipment and personnel.
