Keeping the seas clean
Norsk Oljevernforening For Operatørselskap (NOFO) is a membership organization for operating companies on the Norwegian continental shelf. Our main task is to fulfill our members’ needs for an efficient and robust oil spill response.
NOFO improves oil spill preparedness through the development and implementation of new technology. At the same time, we provide training, emergency preparedness and technology development on behalf of the operating companies.
The business started in 1978 with a few employees and the purchase of some equipment. The emergency response now consists of a large and competent organization with good access to oil spill response resources through its own equipment and a number of agreements with public and private actors. NOFO is always ready for action “For the sake of the sea”, and can immediately take action on behalf of its members by mobilizing equipment at sea and staffing its own emergency response centre.
Logo
The corporate symbol is made up of shapes from the sea, which symbolize the surface NOFO takes care of in their role as oil spill response. For the sake of the sea, NOFO works both to raise the level of knowledge in coastal and beach zone preparedness, and to reduce environmental damage along the Norwegian coast.
NOFO can proudly say that “Emissions from offshore activities in Norway have never reached land”, and works every day to ensure that this goal remains a reality.
The logo was redesigned in 2020, where both the logo symbol and text have been reinforced, and now communicates a more robust and further developed NOFO.

The NOFO wave
Range + Coastal + Protect (oljelense)
The wave, as we call it at NOFO, is an element that represents several aspects of what we do. This element can be combined with text and images, on both white or blue backgrounds. Remember to use the correct version per background.
